how about some hardcore? (continued)
My homegirl Mary G. put me onto Bad Brains in 2005 (excuse the pun and my subsequent tardiness). She was taken back that I had never heard of the D.C.-based quartet, or "the Rolling Stones of Hardcore," as she proclaimed. Thankfully, Mary was patient and kind enough to make me a mix CD of material from Cro-Mags, Black Flag, and Minor Threat. Needless to say, she schooled me further on the wonderful world of hardcore music. Then, in 2008, I wrote an article on Ian MacKaye and Dischord Records (a legendary hardcore label) for an undisclosed Washington newspaper publication. Good thing, Mary had planted the seeds years prior.
I'd like to share if you don't mind. Of course, you don't.
